Job Description:

The USPS OIG is seeking a highly qualified applicant to fill our Deputy Special Agent in Charge (DSAC), Supervisory Criminal Investigator, Director Band, position within the Office of Investigation, Southern Area Field Office Team located in Miami, FL. The successful candidate must exhibit a high degree of leadership, and demonstrate experience managing, planning and conducting complex federal criminal investigations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Candidates will be evaluated on the skills that they possess that are directly related to the duties of the position and the experience, education and training that indicate the applicant’s ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Only those candidates who meet all qualification and eligibility requirements and who submit the required information by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, April 10, 2020 will be considered.
  • The USPS OIG uses a Pay Banding system, which is equivalent to the Federal GS scale. Grade and salary determinations will be made based upon a candidate’s education and professional experience.
  • This position is being advertised at the Director Band level, equivalent to a GS-15. The base salary range for this position is $109,366 – $142,180. Locality and Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) is authorized. Compensation includes 1811 LEAP coverage in primary position under law enforcement retirement.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government-issued credit card
  • Selectee subject to random drug testing
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
  • Will be required to successfully complete a 12-month probationary period
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must currently be a Federal Law Enforcement Officer classified as an 1811 series Criminal Investigator or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and physical examination

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Currently serve as a federal law enforcement officer classified as an 1811 series criminal investigator or equivalent ((You must submit a copy of your SF-50 to verify 1811 series and grade level)
  • Four years of experience as a manager/supervisor, at the GS 14 or higher equivalent grade level, responsible for establishing work plans and/or directly supervising a staff of subordinate criminal investigators
  • At least 8 years of professional federal law enforcement experience
  • Completed Basic Criminal Investigative Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) or its equivalent (You must submit a copy of the certification)
