UBS Employment – SBL Product Manager

Job Description:

In addition to managing the existing lending products, the individual may be asked to lead new projects and own the responsibility of developing business cases, project schedules, communication plans, status reports and remediations for any issues. Additionally, collaboration with Vendors, Operations, Technology, Legal & Compliance on these strategic initiatives and new offerings will be required. The individual may be asked to get involved in other items to help support other team members. We’re looking for someone who can:

Job Responsibilities:

• Be knowledgeable in both theoretical and practical aspects of product and project management
• Coordinate cross-product initiatives and technology driven enhancements as well as continuous support of marketing, sales and education efforts
• Manage KPIs, balance product & firm profitability metrics and client demands
• Assist in the facilitation of the required Standby Letter of Credit application packet to partners in the field; conduct review of completed application packet in an effort to identify any red-flags
• Proactively drive discussions related to specific transactions with key control functions including Credit Risk, Legal, Financial Crime Prevention and Operations
• Review and decision field requests for pricing exceptions on Standby Letters of Credit and Securities Backed loans.
• Perform financial modeling on both securities backed loans and Standby Letters of Credit to determine the profitability
• Collaborate with Trade Finance to assist in processing Standby Letter of Credit issuances, amendments, renewals and draw requests across various legal entities
• Perform weekly audit of the UBS Bank USA Standby Letter of Credit portfolio to ensure all outstanding fees have been settled
• Perform monthly review of “Evergreen” Standby Letters of Credit at UBS Bank USA to ensure clients are provided required notice of upcoming renewals

Job Requirements:

• A university degree in finance or business preferred
• Series 7 is a plus
• 5-7 years of experience in the financial industry; Securities Backed Lending or other types of lending is a plus
• Experience in Margin or Securities Based Lending with an understanding of the various regulations impacting Reg U and Reg T lending is preferred
• Excellent communications and collaborative skills to work with and gain the confidence of cross-functional colleagues across multiple legal entities
• Strong understanding of Standby Letters of Credit; familiarity with SWIFT is preferred
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills are required
• Ability to identify and manage issues through to resolution across various teams
• Fluency with core MS Office tools is required; Access, Project, and Visio experience a plus
