Job Description:
This is the second level of the Sourcing classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems with some supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is complex and varied. Employees manage several vendor procurement activities ranging from simple purchase orders through to complex contract bids and negotiations. Employees at this level work with a varying group of customers to guide them through the procurement lifecycle and address any issues regarding performance of the suppliers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains complete and accurate records of critical interactions, negotiated contracts, and purchasing transactions
- Resolves complex problems and or discrepancies with billings and shipments.
- Achieves substantial cost savings through negotiations, and consolidation of purchase requests and or contracts.
- Performs escalated expediting activities to support schedules and critical needs.
- Maintains knowledge of commodities, sources of supply, diversity opportunities and market conditions that may impact future procurement.
- Ensures that purchase orders and contracts are in compliance with all regulatory, department, and corporate policies.
- Purchases complex materials, equipment or enterprise services via contractual agreements with suppliers.
- Develops contractual agreements between suppliers and Duke Energy for the provisioning of products and services.
- Frequent interface with business personnel (i.e. IT, Telecom, Security, Legal), internal clients and or Supply Chain management and peers.
Job Requirements:
- In addition to desired degree, 2 years related work experience
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management
- Certified Purchasing Manager and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business or
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management
- In addition to required degree, 2 years related work experience
- Bachelors degree in Finance or
- Bachelors degree in Economics or
