Job Description:

As a Leader, Event Sales you will support SeaWorld San Diego and Sesame Place San Diego with ensuring seamless execution of special events, such as banquets, picnics, partial and full park buyouts while providing the best guest experience. As a critical team member within a passionate and hard-working sales and marketing team

Job Responsibilities:

  • On-site event management; act as the liaison between client and park departments.
  • Develop all park communication documents, including but not limited to prospectuses, banquet event orders, signage, and production elements.
  • Provide exceptional, professional guest service in a team environment.
  • Communicate with clients and vendors to include sales, emails, phone calls, meetings, contract negotiations, proposals, invoices, and dissemination of pertinent event details.
  • Handle administrative duties including ticket order fulfillment, general phone & website inquiries, revenue management and reporting, event payment processing, etc.
  • Oversee development of sales plans and communication with external sales accounts/territories such as Destination Management Companies,
  • Tourism Authority, Convention Center, Local Associations and Organizations, Military, Corporate and Youth.
  • Responsible for managing all sales of private events that take place at SeaWorld San Diego and Sesame Place San Diego.
  • Responsible for contracting, planning, and coordinating all aspects of events which include but are not limited to corporate, holiday, social and youth.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school or 3+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of travel industry sales, marketing and hospitality experience or 3+ years combination or work/ education experience.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills. Ability to establish and create relationships at all levels with clients and prospect organizations.
  • High-level presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey important ideas and concepts to senior management as well as with high level executives and clients from all walks of life.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Assertiveness and the ability to close sales/ venue bookings.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills and prompt follow-through.
  • Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Remain calm under pressure to solve any situation in a timely manner.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
  • Handle multiple tasks at the same time in a fast-paced working environment with a constant stream of events.
