San Diego Zoo Internships – Pricing Clerk

Job Description:

The Pricing Clerk performs all job assignments with a positive attitude that supports San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s mission and vision of saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in wildlife care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature and leading the fight against extinction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Under general direction, provides training, guidance, and constructive communication
• Validates items against purchase orders
• Prepares various reports as needed
• Prices merchandise
• Researches and reconciles discrepancies
• Checks quality and quantity of incoming merchandise
• Provides leadership on large orders requiring a team effort
• Enters into inventory system
• Creates price tags on a label printer
• Processes incoming orders
• Seeks operational improvements and improved efficiencies

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Work effectively with others and in a diverse team environment
• Competently perform the essential functions and duties outlined
• Perform basic spreadsheet data entry

Qualification & Experience:

• Training and/or experience that would demonstrate the essential functions and knowledge and skills outlined; experience a plus, but not required.
• Computer systems
• Communicate and work effectively with others
• Attend to detail while sustaining fast pace
• Make basic arithmetic calculations
