Job Description:
A key role where you will provide Group Insurance Markets (GIM) financial reporting support while proactively identifying key performance drivers and business trends through management reports and presentations. Yow will also be responsible to provide financial decision support to GIM business by presenting financial analysis and actionable management information to enable profitable and efficient management of the business. As a member of the planning team, develop and report complex financial short-term and long-term planning, forecast and sensitivity models for the Group Markets product lines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze actual and/or projected results; updating forecasts to provide senior management team and finance leadership with timely assessments on variances and issues to be addressed
- Provide advice and analysis of financial impact and assessment of initiatives, business proposals and strategies of GIM. Support the launch and reporting setup relating to IFRS 17
- Act as the financial liaison for the business on issues dealing with GRMI, Compliance, Taxation, Corporate Accounting, and the creation of business cases
- Provide analysis and decision support of financial impact and assessment of initiatives, business proposals and strategies of the GIM product line
- Act as key finance advisory contact for GIM products (Annuity, Life and Health), providing proactive, value-added advice and guidance to operations managers
- Reporting and analysis of actual and/or projected results, updating forecasts and providing executives, finance leaders and various management teams with timely assessments on variances and issues to be addressed
- Prepare and continuously improve monthly financial advisory package to highlight and focus on management’s most pressing issues that pose opportunities or risks to the business objectives
- Direct and facilitate the development and production of the annual financial plan, forecasts and expense budget of Group Markets product lines using drivers and trends to identify values and opportunities
Job Requirements:
- Excellent planning and forecasting, management reporting, business advisory support
- Solid understanding of Insurance products and moderate understanding of how actuarial liabilities are developed
- Excellent working knowledge of all Windows based software with exceptional Excel skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Insurance accounting experience would be preferred
Qualification & Experience:
- Solid experience across financial analytic systems
- Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of financial services industry experience in progressive finance roles
