Job Description:

The MGH Radiation Oncology is a seeking an experienced Staff or Senior Radiation Therapist for a full-time position. Under the supervision of the Team Lead Radiation Therapist, the incumbent delivers photon and/or proton radiation therapy, performs CT simulations and analyzes pre-treatment imaging according to the prescription and instructions of the radiation oncologist. Contributes positively to the efficient and safe delivery of patient care with an emphasis on maximum patient comfort and satisfaction. Job Responsibilities:

  • Review charts at the initiation of treatment, when treatment plans are changed, and throughout the course of therapy for completeness and order
  • Accurately document radiation treatment delivery and all technical parameters
  • Work with the patient, family, and/or social service to establish a schedule that will allow the treatment program to proceed as smoothly as possible
  • Ensure consistency between the paper treatment record and the electronic chart/verification system
  • Contribute positively to the efficient delivery of treatments, with minimal overtime expenditure, efficient utilization of resources, and maximum patient comfort and satisfaction
  • Participate in the orientation and education of our patients
  • Perform daily output and alignment checks on linear accelerators
  • Accurately deliver radiation treatment to patients according to the prescription provided by the radiation oncologist.
  • Maintain equipment and orderliness of the treatment area

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience with modern and advanced radiation therapy techniques
  • Minimum 1+ year(s) of experience is strongly preferred
  • Candidates that graduated in 2000 or later must possess a Baccalaureate degree
  • Physical strength to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Active ARRT registration
  • Experience with state-of-the-art treatment delivery systems
  • Associates degrees will be accepted for candidates that completed their education prior to 2000
  • State of Massachusetts Radiation Therapy license or ability to obtain one
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved program in radiation therapy technology
