Job Description:

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of all aspects of imports and freight management relating to Beers, Wines & Spirits. Day to day tasks will include freight management, forecasting, demand planning of goods ready to be shipped from various origins, following the process all the way into DC, and ensuring availability for the end customer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate information to the wider business on the status of imported goods required for launch, availability and range refreshes to enable clear decision making
  • Management and adviser of import activities working with stakeholders to continuously improve workflow, processes and procedures
  • Highlight trends, improve performance and ensure compliance to agreed processes/procedures
  • Proactively researches international/importing issues and new trends that could impact or influence future international sourcing decisions and establish best practice
  • Ensure operational compliance across BWS business areas, covering all countries and product commodities

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of food or retail management, supply chain
  • Ability to manage your own workload to a consistent high standard following procedures to deliver work to an excellent and compliant standard to meet deadlines alongside the needs of the wider team and business
  • Ideally in a similar import focused role with a retailer or importer
  • Working knowledge of Customs Procedure
  • Open thinking capability to look for ways to deliver continuous improvement
  • Data analysis using Excel and SQL
  • Make judgements based upon logical commercial or strategic reasoning
  • Clear, open and persuasive manner and is able to influence change across the business
  • In depth knowledge of Beers, Wines & Spirits Industry and market intelligence
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Advanced Excel skills required, SQL skills an advantage Systems – Oracle ORMS, EBS & carrier visibility tools
  • Planning & demand planning desirable
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience of Supply Chain and appropriate industry qualifications understanding of FMCG markets (retail/e-comm)
  • Strong database information management and analytical skills
