Job Description:
The Hellenic Observatory seeks to appoint a Research Officer who will engage in the management of external research projects; help develop a programme of research, seeking external funding, in conjunction with Hellenic Observatory academic staff; and will pursue his/her own high-quality research related to Greece and/or Cyprus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with academic colleagues to develop research project(s) on Greece and/or Cyprus and actively seek external funding to support them.
- Pursue his/her own independent, high-quality research related to the public policy agenda in Greece and/or Cyprus.
- Largely be responsible for managing a series of external research projects undertaken for the Hellenic Observatory (HO Research Calls Programme)
- Support the general activities of the Hellenic Observatory, including managing its working paper series.
Qualification & Experience:
- You will have a completed PhD in one of the following areas: public policy; political science; economics; international relations. Preference may be given to candidates with skills in quantitative analysis. You will have a comprehensive and substantial knowledge of contemporary Greece, together with evidence of publication and/or project delivery through independent original research.
- You will have the ability to analyse and research complex ideas, concepts or theories, and experience of establishing context for research projects and (as appropriate) establishing databases and models; experience drafting research projects and grant applications; good team-working and excellent communication skills
