Job Description:

Develops, coordinates and leads the implementation of medium to large IT initiatives and technical improvement efforts, or components of larger, complex initiatives. Leads IT projects including coordinating activities, personnel and budget. Responsibilities are for one or more medium to large IT projects with moderate to high complexity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for one or more medium to large IT projects
• Determines staffing requirements /employee discipline(s) and forms IT project team(s)
• Identifies and takes action to mitigate potential risks and issues and makes recommendations to management when escalation is required
• Assesses variances from the plan and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure project meets time, cost and quality objectives
• Develops and maintains all IT project-related documentation
• Follows defined IT project management processes, standards, and procedures. Provides process feedback supporting potential improvement opportunities
• Provides continuing work direction and leadership to assigned team including, scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project work
• Leads project through the conceptual, requirements gathering, design, development, and implementation phases
• Develops and communicates IT project plan, schedules, cost and progress
• Utilizes process improvement techniques such as six sigma tools and SEI-CMM processes

Qualification & Experience:

• Substantial experience, preferably more than 6 years of relevant work experience in related field, to include formal project management training
• U.S. Citizen
• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer-related courses, or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Experience should also include the application of project management practices, principles, and tools in managing IT projects through delivery
