Job Description:

Georgia-Pacific (a Koch Industries company) is currently seeking a Financial Analyst for our Recycling business in Atlanta, GA. This role will be a key contributor of the Georgia Pacific Recycling Financial Planning & Analysis Team. Performing a key role supporting our organization, this position will require a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and self-driven individual. The successful candidate will have strong critical and entrepreneurial thinking skills, initiative, a natural curiosity, strong communication skills, and an aptitude for fast-paced learning. The Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering key financial insights to division leadership as part of the financial reporting and forecasting processes. This role will consolidate financial data and forecasts to provide a division level view and is responsible for the submission of various data requests. Additionally, this role will provide operational analysis and support to the GP Recycling leadership team. This is a unique finance role that will incorporate accounting concepts and transformation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide business commentary on financial results (actual and forecasted) that provides business leaders with valuable insights based on a clear understanding of the business drivers and key accounting and financial concepts
  • Design new or optimize existing financial models and templates to improve the reporting and forecasting processes
  • Partner with business leadership to provide ad hoc analysis and operational support
  • Manage financial reporting and forecasting deadlines (monthly, quarterly, and annually) to submit business results in a timely manner with a high level of attention to detail
  • Develop and foster partnerships with the business teams, to gather data to support various internal and external data submissions

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in analyzing data, running detailed business reports, or extracting data from a complex system
  • Experience in an accounting, finance, or business analysis related role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other analytical related discipline
  • This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship
  • Experience with data analytics platforms, business process technology, and basic coding skills such as PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, and robotic process automation
  • Experience speaking or presenting topics in front of an audience
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills (Ex: pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas to do analysis within data)
