Easyjet Cabin Crew Jobs – Senior Insurance Manager

Job Description:

• The team works with a number of external stakeholders including customers, risk consultants, academic institutions, banks, card schemes, fraud screening providers, technology providers, regulators, law enforcement, insurers, brokers, re-insurers, legal firms and loss adjusters. Internally, the team work with every other area of the business in some form but mainly with Finance, Legal, Operations, Safety and Strategy
• This role reports into the Senior Corporate Risk Manager and Head of Insurance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Building and maintaining, alongside the Senior Corporate Risk Manager and Head of Insurance, appropriate internal and external relationships including insurance brokers, insurers, reinsurers, legal advisors, loss adjusters & risk consultants
• Own all insurance related activities in the unlikely event of a major loss – be prepared through crisis management exercises/ workshops
• Helping to mitigate exposure to 3rd party suppliers through contract review and sign off of insurance provisions, taking advice from the broker, external counsel and/ or Senior Corporate Risk Manager and Head of Insurance where necessary
• Managing commercial relationships, renewals and negotiations across a wide range of insurance policies for a multi-billion pound digital travel business
• Working with the Claims Analyst, own and manage the insured claims process and handle, as required, individual claims for a wide array of insurances, which can be highly sensitive in nature (e.g. death in service, pilot loss of license, D&O, passenger & employee personal injury). Ensure a continual improvement methodology is maintained.
• Providing input into the insurance strategy and then owning the execution of that strategy
• Acting as the subject matter expert/ go to person for insurance both internally and externally, with referral to the Senior
• Corporate Risk Manager and Head of Insurance as necessary
• Identification and implementation of risk transfer solutions to dovetail into enterprise risk framework, in conjunction with
• Risk and Assurance team
• Reducing insured risk exposures to limit financial exposure, support Safety Risk performance and differentiate easyJet within the insurance market
• Technical leadership to the Claims Analyst and Broker Outsourced Team

Job Requirements:

• Ideally will hold a formal Insurance/ risk management qualification
• Ability to deliver – drive and energy to achieve objectives, working as part of a team and cover for other members
• Ability to communicate complex ideas very simply at all levels
• Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, written and presenting
• Strong multi-tasking skills and experience of balancing priorities to meet deadlines
• Strong contract (commercial contracts and insurance policy wording) experience, with the ability to negotiate terms, balance risk vs reward, and analyse and model insurance cover
• Good organisational skills – structured approach
• A true self-starter (and finisher), with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm.
• Strong MS Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/ Outlook and general computing skills
• Strong hazard or operational risk management experience – ability to engage stakeholders to effect risk reduction change
• Ability to manage upwards, across a number of executive roles
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and manage numerous work streams simultaneously
• Demonstrate a detailed understanding and practical ‘hands-on’ experience of insurance related matters
• Leading, with the ability to drive strong performance, develop talent and resolve performance issues

Qualification & Experience:

• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Experience of leading an insurance function in a large complex FTSE 100/ 250 (or equivalent) preferred
• 7 years + Insurance/ risk management experience essential
• Experience of managing external relationships i.e. Brokers, (Re-)Insurers, Lawyers, Loss Adjusters essential Experience of effectively developing and using data to deliver insured risk improvements – improved cover or risk/ exposure reductions
• High degree of numeracy
