Job Description:
This is a hands-on position requiring strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, influencing and problem-solving skills – in addition to comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, labor relations, and employment-related laws.
Job Responsibilities:
- Regularly interact with executives, managers, and employees
- Recruitment and onboarding
- Lead, plan and execute organization development initiatives as needed, such as organization design, employee engagement, change management and employee development
- Develop relationships with local college/university community to identify professional development/training solutions as well as develop internship and early career pipelines
- Employee and labor relations, internal investigations and conflict management
- Ensuring compliance with union contract rules, employment-related laws, and company policies
- Provide advice on performance and conduct-related issues
Job Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, or as needed
- Must be able to work from our Teaneck, NJ location and in NYC as needed
- Employment/education will be verified
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience with Workday
- Prior media industry and/or labor relations experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity, including employee and labor relations, compensation, leadership and organizational development
- Strong command of HR regulations, laws and requirements with demonstrated ability to professionally handle policy and people related escalations and employee relations scenarios
- Manages and leads through ambiguity and tackles business challenges with a solutions focused attitude
