Communications Associate – Univision Employment

Job Description:

• Univision, the leading media company serving Hispanic America, is seeking a Communications Associate to join its Corporate Communications team in New York City. This department leverages key national publications, media trades and third-party organizations to position Univision and its portfolio of assets with clients, key influencers and stakeholders.
• The Associate will work closely with the other Associates, Managers and Directors on the team to develop media coverage reports, briefing books, conduct media research, manage media lists, prioritize multiple tasks, serve as junior writer, support the team with proofreading, as well as some light administrative duties.
• The Corporate Communication team is a collaborative group that works in partnership with numerous divisions throughout the Company and is committed to excellence. Attention to detail is critical, as is the ability to think and make decisions independently.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify new media contacts for specialized pitches and publicity campaigns and keep media contact lists up to date
• Help manage press, digital media and influencers’ inquiries and interview requests
• Monitor media coverage and create recap reports and presentations
• Support regular editorial updates on all corporate digital platforms, including company website, social media handles and employee intranet
• Assist in the research and development of internal and external communications materials including press releases, media pitches, companywide memos, e-blasts, strategic blog posts, social media posts, and briefing documents
• Work with Managers to ensure the proper approvals of communications materials with key stakeholders across the company

Job Requirements:

• Employment/education will be verified
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
• Must be willing to work from office in New York, NY
• Curiosity and passion for communications and the entertainment, broadcast and online media industries
• Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus, but not required

Qualification & Experience:

• Exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Highly organized multitasker with the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
• Possess strong organizational and research skills, knowledge of social media platforms and press outlets
• Minimum one (1) year of experience working in public relations, communications or marketing – either in-house or agency experience
• MS Office Suite proficiency required
