Job Description:
This role sits within COPP’s Business Management Team and will lead on ensuring that the directorate’s vast amount of HR and Estates data is managed in accordance with the Cabinet Office’s Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) standards, and GDPR standards and policy requirements. Our data is one of our most valuable assets, and the successful candidate will play an absolutely critical role in safeguarding it. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is capable of reviewing and improving the team’s data protection and information management culture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responding to data Subject Access Requests (SARs), PQs, and FOIs for the COPP team.
- Act as the main point of contact for data protection issues within COPP, engaging with the Data Privacy Team/Data Protection Officer as necessary.
- Leading on the implementation of COPP’s Personal Data Handling Improvement plan, which will ensure the team is fully compliant with GDPR.
- Actively participate in DP network group meetings sharing information and providing mutual support in areas of common interest.
- Identifying and reporting on data breaches, and ensuring lessons learned are logged and implemented.
- Promote good data protection behaviours, awareness and best practice across the team.
- Ensure new starters are provided with data protection and KIM training as part of their induction.
- Monitoring GDPR and KIM compliance to ensure that policy, standards and best practice is maintained and developed by working with teams on a day to day basis, conducting quarterly compliance self-assessments and regular audits.
- Support the circulation of DP messages and campaigns.
- Coordinate and engage with ‘Library Managers’, to ensure their teams are compliant with KIM guidance and standards.
