Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Statewide Transportation Unit (STU), Southern Transportation Hub (STH) Correctional Lieutenant, the Correctional Sergeant will be responsible for the supervision of STH Correctional Officers and the safe transport of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) inmates to and from various CDCR facilities and local law enforcement facilities located throughout the State of California.
Job Responsibilities:
- The STH Sergeant will interact with the general public and other law enforcement agencies on a daily basis and are expected to present themselves at the highest professional standard at all times, on and off duty.
- The Sergeant shall be efficient in their duties. The Sergeant is required to maintain a DMV Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License, a Medical Examiners Certificate (DL-51), Air Brake Restriction, Passenger Transportation Endorsement, be quarterly qualified on all STU firearms and attend all required classes.
